Illuminations

Botanica Gardens, "Illuminations" light display
Bibi and Babu flew into Wichita on New Year's Eve day. We had been meaning to attend "Illuminations" at the Botanica Gardens (a huge outdoor lights display) all month, but it never worked out. So, since it was the last night of the event, we bundled up the kids and headed out....even though it was 16 degrees and getting colder!

It was pretty neat. We had been to the gardens once before, in the summer. But it was fun to see the trees decorated, tons of lighted displays, and a few places where entire fields were lit up and flashed in sync with Christmas music. There weren't many people (I suppose because it was New Year's Eve....and really cold!)

Cora didn't look too impressed. I don't think she moved anything but her eyes the whole time we were there. After a while, Jonah got cold and decided to join her in the stroller...

The whole crew....brrrrr!

Musical field
Pretty flowers
Kid-sized lighted tunnel!

This was my favorite tree - so colorful and playful! It was filled with teddy bears and candy and lots of fun kid things.

What a fun, colorful evening activity on our first night with Bibi and Babu. And we have them here with us for a few more days! They seem to have brought the cold weather with them from Michigan. Thankfully things look like they will warm up again soon. Happy New Year - welcome to 2015!!
