We have a fun little park that's just a few blocks from our house. It is a nice walk to get there - and it has a little playground, a pond (with ducks!), and lots of green space. I imagine we will be spending a lot of time there this summer.
Brandon got home early one afternoon last week, and the weather was just gorgeous, so we walked over to the park to enjoy the sunshine. Jonah has a little tee-ball set, and he and Brandon like to work on his swing.

Brandon and Jonah play catch quite a bit, and Jonah is surprisingly good at catching (for being my son!). Brandon has him trained so that when he says, "Get your hands ready," Jonah sticks out his hands, together, ready to catch. While we were at the park, Brandon and I were tossing a Frisbee and Jonah stood "at the ready" the whole time, just waiting for Dad to throw it his way. I've also seen him do this when we are out for a walk in the stroller and we pass by kids playing with a ball of some sort. Just wants to be included :)
As we were playing, we noticed some geese near the pond, so we had to walk over and take a closer look.
Jonah LOVES birds. He gets excited when he hears a bird outside the window, he loves to point at them when we go for walks, he loves to touch them in books and stand on our porch swing and look for them. I think this bird was a little too close for comfort, especially when it started hissing. But Dad likes to live dangerously.
And, as always, we had to round out our trip to the park with a stop by the swings.
Like I tell Brandon every year, all winter long: Summer is a million times better than winter!! And we're loving it.
