Taste of Home

Abruptly, at 8:00pm on Saturday, Vishwajeet mentioned they were heading away for the evening, and that they would be back sometime on Sunday. (Um…what?) And then everyone left except the three Americans (myself, Brandon, and Abhi). My first thought, of course, was what are we going to do for dinner? All of our meals up until this point had been provided for us. So we did the only logical thing…we called up Pizza Hut. J

We were delighted to see they were running a special: two medium pizzas, one order of garlic bread and two sodas for only rs. 500 – that's about $11. Well, 40 minutes (and about rs 750 later…after added fees for meat toppings and a 14% tax) we were seriously underwhelmed.

Apparently a "medium" pizza is only slightly larger than a personal pan pizza. It was good pizza, just not the great deal we thought we were getting. This entire evening is a perfect example of exactly how unpredictable India has been for us. Things change and shift so often, it is difficult to make any kind of plans. And sometimes things just are not what you expect, so we are learning to ditch any expectations and just go with the flow.
