The kids and I are in Iowa for a few days. This is my first time traveling with both kids on my own! The kids did pretty well in the car. However, our lunch stop ended up taking almost 2 hours - yikes! I guess we can work on our efficiency on the ride home. In retrospect, it was probably a bit much to try and squeeze in a trip to Costco when we stopped for lunch :/ We made a bathroom/diaper change stop at Kohl's before we getting back on the road, and I was so very grateful to find a family restroom, which included this magical contraption that should be required in all bathrooms!

It is especially fun to watch Jonah and Patrick interact and play together more as they get older. They are quite the pair. Unfortunately, the Weldons had to take off this morning, so our time with them was short. But it won't be too long before we see them again - we are looking forward to a trip to Colorado next month. I have not been out to Colorado since our trip right after Patrick was born!
So much easier to navigate a restroom stop with two kids when you don't have to juggle a squirmy baby (or set her on the bathroom floor)!
After our lunch stop, both kids fell alseep (yay!), and it was smooth sailing the rest of the trip. We were excited to get to Des Moines, especially because the Weldons (minus Joe) were already there! And it put my little trip in perspective - because Katie had just driven from Alabama, with three kids, AND they still had quite a bit of driving left. It was the first time the Weldon boys got to meet Cora, and they were excited to say hello. Patrick was very excited about "The Baby," and wanted to carry her around. Daniel sat with her for quite a while, just talking and playing. Cora loved all the attention! Jonah had fun running around with the Weldon boys, and of course, Grandma's iPad is always a big hit.

| We enjoyed some Iowa sweet corn for dinner before the Weldons left. |
