Babu and Bibi came to visit last weekend, and we had a great time while they were here! As I mentioned before, they stayed in Friday night so that Brandon and I could go out. And it was wonderful! What a treat.
On Saturday, there was a lot of napping for Mom and Dad - and Babu and Bibi did a great job keeping Jonah occupied while we snoozed (I don't think they minded too much). Jonah is still at an age where he is pretty content hanging out in our living room, so Saturday was a pretty low-key day. Our big adventure of the day was a trip to Costco! Turns out Saturday is a great day for samples. Jonah, especially, was loving the mango necter (or maybe it was just drinking from a paper cup). I've never seen him so excited. There was lots of lip-licking, hand opening and closing, wiggling and whole body shudders, and a wide array of strange squeaks and squeals.
We tend to consume a lot of chips and salsa when we're with my in-laws. And after our Costco trip, we downed 3lbs of salsa and almost 3lbs of chips between the four of us. Yikes.
On Sunday, after church, we went out for brunch at Iowa River Power Company. Brunch is probably my favorite meal to eat out, and IRPC did not disappoint. It's buffet style, and seriously comprises anything you could think of as brunch food: eggs, potatoes, sausage and bacon, steamed veggies, biscuits and gravy, pasta, mashed potatoes with gravy, waffles, prime rib, ham, salmon, sweet rolls, bagels, salad, fruit, cheesecake, cake, and more. Yumm-o. We rolled ourselves home, and we all rested on the couch before Babu and Bibi had to climb back in to the car for the long trek back to Michigan. Thanks for coming to visit us!
