Bibi and Babu (Grandpa? Papa? ...we're still not sure yet) are visiting this weekend! On Friday night, we took advantage of the FREE BABYSITTING situation to get out for a little date. It was a quadruple celebration. First, Friday was Brandon's very last day of grad school - he is officially, finally done! Yay! Which means, it is also Brandon's very last weekend before returning to med school to finish clinicals. Beginning Monday, his time is no longer his own. Things are about to get very busy (or at least, much busier than they have been the past 6 years). So we celebrated one last night out together. Monday is also extra special, because it's Brandon's birthday!! AND, it is also Valentine's Day weekend, of course. Whew. Lots of celebrating to squeeze into one evening.
We started with a lovely dinner out. Someone else did the cooking and all the clean-up and worked tirelessly to ensure my water glass was never empty. It was amazing! Although, the evening got off to a bit of a rocky start. We left a little later than Brandon was comfortable with to make our 7:00 reservation, and then there was no parking near the restaurant. Eek! Brandon dropped me off and went to park the car (it was cold, and I was in heels!), and as he drove away, I saw the sign in front of the restaurant: Complimentary Valet. Oops. After Brandon returned from parking the car, the hostess promptly seated us. Our server came over, and as he was filling our water glasses, he bumped his water pitcher into the wine list, which started to tip and pushed over a wine glass, which he tried to catch as it fell, first with his hands and then with his foot(!). It shattered all over our feet, and they showed us another table. Thankfully, the evening only improved from there. Good food and great company. And an amazing chocolate-peanut-butter-tower of a dessert (served with two tiny forks).
After dinner, we met up with a few friends for some bowling. I have not been bowling in a really long time. It showed. But it was good fun. Brandon bowled like a rock star. We made it home just before midnight. Such a fun night!
And then Jonah woke up at 4:00am. For the third day in a row. Back to reality :)
Thanks to Bibi and Babu for putting Jonah to bed and for watching him all day while Brandon and I napped.
