Thea's Wedding
Jonah got in lots of time with both grandparents during the reception:
(We've lived in Iowa for almost five years. Prior to March, Rob and Sue had visited us three times. Since March, they've been here four times.... Hmmm, we know who they really want to see :)
McCormick Reunion
Welcome to July! On Sunday, Jonah and I dropped Brandon off at home and headed north to McGregor for a little reunion. My mom's Aunt Betty and her family were all going to be in town from Colorado and California, so they decided to get the whole family together for a little reunion - I think there were almost 60 of us all together. (I don't see some of these folks too often, so we'll see how well I do here with the details). My grandma has three sisters and a brother:

Back: Betty and Jean
Front: Dale, Kay and Linda (my grandma)
All of the cousins were able to make it except two! My mom's brother, Kevin, who lives in North Carolina, and her sister, Kari - who actually lives in town. She had a pretty good excuse, though. Her newest granddaughter was born late Saturday night!
Almost all the cousins:
It was interesting to see the generational spread. In my generation, the age difference between the oldest and youngest cousins is about ten years. However, my mom's generation is a bit more spread out. My grandma has fourteen great-grandchildren, while her sister's grandkids are 3 and 1, with one on the way in November! Instead of trying to corral the whole gang, we took photos by "branch" of the family tree. Here is my grandma's gang:
Grandma and Grandpa Henkes
3 out of 5 kids
7 out of 12 grandkids
6 out of 14 great-grandkids
and Kinnick
We all enjoyed a HOT afternoon in the park, and met up again later for dinner at the Old Man. It was fun to catch up with family we don't see often.
All the "babies" got in a good nap in the afternoon heat
And Grandpa Strutt got in some good Jonah time.
Jonah is still loving his fingers and any piece of cloth he can chew on. Guaranteed entertainment. This weekend, he has also started (finally!) being able to reach his toes. The race is on to pull them up to his mouth. It won't be long.
What a great weekend!!
