We had some special visitors this past weekend - Bibi and Babu flew in for a long weekend! Unfortunately, Brandon had to work the whole weekend. But we managed to have a little fun without him. The weather was gorgeous, and probably the last nice days we'll have for a while. The cold front has settled in (but at least we don't have snow! ....yet)
We stayed busy reading lots of books, coloring, painting and playing games.
Cora's new thing is sticking Mega Bloks in her mouth while she plays. The single ones are a perfect fit. Goofball.

Bibi brought some new books,
which she read over and over (and over!) at Jonah's request |
And of course, we spent as much time as possible outside enjoying the weather. Babu raked up a big pile of leaves for Jonah to jump in.

As Bibi and Babu were packing up and getting ready to head for the airport Monday morning, I saw on Facebook that a friends' kids (in Minneapolis) had a snow day! It seemed ridiculous, because it was sunny and warm here in Wichita (we got up to 70 yesterday). But I also remembered that Bibi and Babu's flight had a connection in Minneapolis. We checked, and sure enough, all flights into and out of Minneapolis had been cancelled due to the storm! They got re-booked on a flight connecting through Atlanta, but it didn't leave until later in the afternoon. We took advantage of the extra time and took the kids to a park before lunch.

Hard to believe their flight was cancelled due to SNOW!! |
After a delayed start and lots of extra sitting around in the airport, Bibi and Babu were scheduled to get into Grand Rapids after 11pm. ...and then they still had to drive home AND get up for work this morning. Kind of a sour end to a wonderful weekend. But we're so glad they make the effort to come see us! I hope we're worth the trouble :)
The cold front descended into Kansas last night, and we woke up to a chilly 20 degrees. Temps will be hanging steady in the 30's for the rest of the week. I guess winter is on its way. So long, Fall!
