Vacation, part 3 - The Real Deal

Brandon's test is D - O - N - E !!! We celebrated by going out for breakfast at Bluebird Diner in IC. Yum! This was our first time eating at the Bluebird, and it did not disappoint: chorizo eggs Benedict for Brandon, breakfast croissant (and a single pancake - baby girl insisted!) for me, and scrambled eggs and fruit (and a little bit off everyone else's plate) for Jonah. Jonah really packed it away this morning. And impressed our server by counting sugar packets all the way up to "ten-teen" (which comes after nine-teen, naturally)  :)

After breakfast, we came home and gave Jonah his first haircut! Jonah's hair is pretty thin, and really not very long considering it has not been cut in the past 21 months (unless you count the time Brandon trimmed it without telling me!!). But a little trim has been in order for a while:

Mostly because those sideburns/mutton chops were getting out of hand :)  But anything involving scissors and my wild, wiggly child was definitely going to require two sets of hands. With a little help from Dad and Finding Nemo, we finished the job quickly -- and without incident.  Here are the after shots:

It's far from perfect/professional (a little choppy in the back), but it doesn't hang over his ears anymore.

Couldn't tear him away from Finding Nemo long enough for a picture...but we did manage a smile :)
Can't wait to enjoy the rest of our break...although things are about to get busy again as we do a bit of traveling and hosting for Christmas. Hard to believe 2013 is almost over!
