Pure Michigan

In 15 days, we traveled just over 2,100 miles, slept in 7 different beds, met dozens of new people and took in a TON of information about programs and places.  It was an exhausting but fun trip.  I have been pleasantly surprised by the interview process for residency. Brandon doesn't seem to get stressed about these kind of things, and we have enjoyed learning about new places and dreaming together what life would be like were he to do his residency at each program we visited. It also helps that we seem to be on the same page, as far as likes and dislikes about each program and city.  I wasn't sure how this was all going to go, but our "list" seems to be falling into place.

Pure Michigan

Jonah stayed in Morrice for 11 days, while Brandon and I popped in and out between driving all over Michigan and Indiana.  Babu still had to work, but Bibi was able to take some time off to stay with Jonah while we were gone.  Babu had to squeeze in his snuggles after school and on the weekends. Bibi tells me they stayed busy!  Jonah read LOTS of books, played with play-doh, practiced counting and naming letters, learned to draw a circle, walked to the woods behind Bibi and Babu's house, played in the sand and the snow (just a dusting) and the leaves, visited Babu at school and saw the fish in the room next door, and much more we didn't hear about, I'm sure.  Bibi reports that he was nothing but a delight (always nice to hear!).  We sure missed Jonah and were glad to see him each time we came back.

We finished up our interviews before Thanksgiving and were able to enjoy three days in Morrice -- where we did not have to travel anywhere except down the street to Grandma Kathy's house :)  It was nice to spend time with lots of family, eat WAY too much food, and watch a little football (GO HAWKS!!).  We even got in a few rounds of Trivial Pursuit.

There is no love for Jonah's shark hat at Bibi and Babu's house, so he usually ended up wearing whatever hat was by the door. On this day he supported Aunt Erin and Uncle Aaron's alma mater, ONU.  Go Tigers!

We had such great weather over the weekend, Jonah took us back to the woods to show us where he had been exploring all week while we were gone.

After a bit of a rough last night of sleep, we had an uneventful trip home with (thankfully!) no heavy traffic and beautiful weather. Jonah seems glad to be back in "his space", and we all slept well after all that traveling. We always enjoy our time in Michigan, and it was good to get in one last trip before the new baby!!  Now, if we could just convince Jonah we're back on Central Time ;)
