Anatomy of a day off

After twelve days on, Brandon finally had a day off!  We tried to squeeze as much fun into one day as we could.  First, Brandon got to sleep in until 5:45 (when Jonah woke everybody up:) ).  And then we continued our first-Saturday-of-the-month donut tradition with a trip to Daylight Donuts.  After picking up our tasty treats, we made a stop at the Baums for a quick impromptu play-date...and discovered we were the second donut-drop-off at the Baums that morning!  Nora didn't seem to mind.

Later in the day we made a stop at the Wellness Center on campus for a dip in the "leisure pool" - including a zero-depth entry, lazy river, the Vortex, rock wall, basketball hoop and hot tub.  And a giant TV on the wall.  Our friend Bridget braved an outing with three small children and joined us, as well.  Jonah was a little nervous when we first arrived, I think because it was really loud.  But he warmed up pretty quickly.
The hot tub was perfectly positioned to sit and watch some basketball and warm up after swimming in the chilly pool.
Loved swimming around with Miss Nora J and Leemo!
Back at the ranch, Brandon worked with Jonah on feeding himself with a spoon.  He's getting better at this! The changes come so quickly at this age.  It seems like he is constantly busting out new skills.  It is fun to see his independence emerging.
We finished off our day with dinner at the Thompsons! No pictures, but good food and good conversation.

I'd say it's was a successful day off!
