Sunday

Happy Sunday!

We had some serious storms here yesterday, so we mostly laid-low and stayed home.  Today, however, was beautiful.  We knew we wanted to spend some time outside and enjoy the cooler weather and sunshine.
After church and some lunch, we had to kill some time while Jonah napped.  But it was finally cool enough to enjoy the porch swing, so we got some reading in.  Speaking of Jonah's nap: Jonah has been rolling onto his tummy for a little while now, but sort of randomly.  All of a sudden on Saturday, it seemed like he was constantly rolling onto his belly when placed on his back - especially when we lay him down in his crib.  This is how I found him during his nap this afternoon:

Evidently he rolled over and rotated 90 degrees.  He won't be able to lay cross-wise in his crib much longer!  And like clockwork, after he'd been sleeping for 40 minutes, we started hearing noise from the nursery....but then it stopped.  I waited, then crept into his room.   Sure enough, he was back to sleep, and slept for another hour!  Could this be the secret to extending his short little naps?  A mama can dream :)

We made it to the park a little later than planned (because of Jonah's rock star nap), but we were still able to enjoy the beautiful weather.  Even with the intense rain we received yesterday, the grass is still looking brown and dry.  It has been a hot, dry summer.  The boys threw a frisbee around for a while.  Then Brandon's friend Jeff met us at the park and they played a wild game of croquet.  To end the evening, we drove over to Backpocket to meet Grandma and Grandpa Strutt and Aunt Jenny for dinner.  The outside is really coming together (they have a sign now!).  It's looking great, Dad!

A great Sunday!
