Hot Shots Meet

Cora has been taking recreational gymnastics classes for the past three years. This month, she was invited to join “Hot Shots”, which is the “pre-team” portion of her gym’s competitive Junior Olympic developmental program. The Hot Shots classes don’t compete, but they focus on skill development and technique before girls officially join the competitive team. On Saturday, they held a mock meet so the girls could showcase skills they’ve been working on. At the end of the meet, everyone got a medal - haha!

I used my very rudimentary video editing skills to put together all the clips I took at the meet. She doesn’t have the JAG leotard, which actually makes it easier to spot her bright pink leotard. At the beginning, she is doing straight jumps across the front, then she is running across the back of the frame to jump on the springboard. The rest of the clips, she should be pretty easy to pick out.

Cora had blast and was so excited to show off all her skills. She said Bars is her favorite event. Cora was also super pumped to receive a medal (which upon closer inspection reads “2018 Kansas Junior Olympic and Xcel State Championship” - so it must have been something they had lying around, haha!).

Hot Shots 1 & 2 with their teacher, Miss Sarah

This was a fun way to spend a rainy afternoon. Great job, Cora!
