After our weekly library trip, we decided to make the most of the sunshine and take a trip to the new Dalton Palmer Park in Augusta. It touts itself as an "extreme playground" and the tallest in Kansas. It was certainly one of the more unique parks I've ever been to.
It's a fairly small park (a sign at the park calls it a "parklet"), but it is VERY tall!! See Jonah standing at the bottom of the slide on the bottom left?
Everything is very enclosed, though, so it seems very safe. Even Levi enjoyed crawling around up at the top levels. There are lots of interesting and unique climbing features you don't see at a lot of parks.
One of my favorite features was the "glide swing" - I've seen pictures of something like this, but never ridden on one. Basically, it's a swing attached to a rail. You stand at the top of a small platform, then sit on the swing as it glides along a rail, looping back up towards the platform. Then the next person can ride in the other direction. Very fun!!
