Every Kansas girl should dress up as Dorothy once in her life - this year was Esther's turn. We rounded out the crew with The Cowardly Lion (Jonah), The Tin-man (Cora), and The Scarecrow (Levi). We even found a yellow brick road!!
We attended an event at Wichita State University where members of different athletic teams dressed up and put on games for the kids and handed out candy. We found one gal dressed up as....The Yellow Brick Road - Ha! Creative costume.
On Halloween, we went up to College Hill to Trick or Treat on Wichita's very own "Halloween Street." Highlights from the evening included: Grandma being in town and getting to come along, and a visit to the "Wizard of Oz" house -- Esther was delighted to discover Dorothy was handing out candy....and we also passed another Dorothy coming down the walk as we were going up to that house. So many Dorothies! Popular costume choice in Kansas, I guess. Not only Kansas, but I also saw on Facebook that three families we know back in Iowa dressed up as characters from the movie, as well!!
It was a late night for our Scarecrow, and he passed out in the stroller before we called it a night.
