We are Family

Well, Thanksgiving was over a week ago, but it's taken us that long to recover.  Not really...but it's been a busy week.  We spent the holiday in my parents' hometown.  Katie (plus family) and Rob (plus Whitney) also joined us.  It was a relaxed few days with lots of food, football and family.

At every family gathering as long as I can remember, Katie has always brought the pickle wraps: pickles, wrapped with cream cheese and dried beef, and sliced (barf!).  Over the years, Brandon has watched the assembly process and been convinced there must be a better way.  This year, as my mom was assembling some pickles on Thanksgiving, Brandon jumped in with a method of his own:

Typically, you individually wrap each pickle.  Brandon's method was definitely faster (and messier), we''ll give him that :)

My sister drove in from Colorado, and it's always fun to see her family.  Her oldest, Josh, had a good time playing catch with Brandon all weekend.  He's got a great arm and catches better than I do (although, that's not saying much).  And everyone loved seeing the littlest Weldon, Patrick.  He is so chill and sweet.  Daniel was there too, but apparently I didn't get any pictures of him.  Typical, overlooked second child, I guess :)

Jonah enjoyed all the extra people to play with.  Several cousins and children of cousins and aunts and uncles and grandparents.  Of course, we had to reprise our picture from this summer of the three littlest boys: Jonah, Patrick, and my cousin's youngest, Trace.

As you can see, Jonah's still into grabbing ears.  Only this time, he went after poor Patrick.  Patrick was a pretty good sport about it, though.

Jonah's intensity was a bit much for the other kids, at times.  Trace was not sure what to think...

Kissing Cousins: Jonah was playing on the floor during our Thanksgiving meal, and my cousin's kids, Taryn and Mariah, sat down to play with him.  Taryn (age 3) leaned in for a smooch, and Jonah did what he does best: leaned right towards her, mouth open, tongue hanging out.  Taryn was not impressed.  (No photos of this, I was happily eating my turkey and jello, watching from across the room).  Taryn spent the rest of the weekend requesting to hold Baby Patrick.  Go figure.

Just sitting with Grandpa

Hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving!!

You'll shoot your eye out...
