Busy

Jonah is getting busier and busier.  He's still content to scoot around on his belly (no crawling here), giving his toes a serious workout as he pushes himself around the room.  He has certain favorite toys he gravitates to, but he is also really intrigued by anything new.

Loves to crawl under his excersaucer.  Sometimes he gets himself stuck :)

One favorite toy is his bag of letter links.  He starts by spreading them out all around him.  Then he chooses two and bangs them together.  I will often find random letters scattered throughout our apartment because Jonah like to carry them in his hands while he scoots around but tends to drop them when something else grabs his attention.

Jonah also like to workout with Dad.  They do pull-ups...

And squats...

Fall 2012
We had a beautiful fall this year.  I attempted to take some "fall-ish" photos of Jonah.  However, we had limited success - and we all came home with some sort of itchy rash from being in the grass.  They must have sprayed some kind of fertilizer at the park :(

Here's the best we could get (he was much too interested in looking at the grass/leaves):

I did manage to get a decent shot of his chubby hands.  I want to remember what his little hands and fingers look like at this stage, exploring things with his little pointer finger.

Visitors!
It's not just Jonah who is busy - life has been busy, too!  We had a bunch of fun visitors over the past week. Brandon's aunts and grandmother drove through on their way to visit Brandon's great aunt who lives in northern Iowa.  They drive through about once a year, and we try to get lunch with them if we can.

Their visit coincided with a long-overdue visit from Bibi and Grandpa!  We managed to get a picture of four generations of Allemans:

Grandpa and Bibi had not seen Jonah since August, so they were excited to make the drive over from Michigan (in record time!) to spend a weekend in Iowa.  We spent most of the weekend just hanging around our place.  But we had an unbelievably warm November day on Saturday, so in the afternoon, we headed downtown so we could finally check out all the used bookstores Iowa City has to offer.  We also got to enjoy the football crowd, as Iowa hosted Purdue this weekend.  Life in a college town.

Sunday brought even more visitors!  We dedicated Jonah during church on Sunday, so Grandma and Grandpa Strutt drove over to meet us for church.  We all celebrated afterwards with lunch - Uncle Bob and (soon-to-be) Aunty Whitney were there, too!

This little guy is a blessing from the Lord.  But we know we are merely stewards of his little life for a time.  Sunday was a chance for us to acknowledge our desire to raise Jonah to know and follow Christ.  It was extra special to have both of our parents stand behind us and pray for us and with us as we made our commitment.  Thanks to all the grandparents for traveling to Iowa City this weekend!
