Michigan Family

We were not able to make a trip to Michigan this summer, but our whole Michigan family came to Kansas! So fun, that in a matter of weeks, we saw everyone on both sides of our families -- a rarity for us :)

Bibi and Babu, Aunt Erin, Uncle Aaron, Aunt Kylie, and Uncle Caleb flew in on Wednesday morning. They rented a house with a neighborhood pool, so the kids spent the afternoon swimming with Bibi and Babu.

On Thursday, Jonah wasn't feeling great, so our guests took the girls to the Great Plains Nature Center/Chisolm Creek Trails, while I stayed home with the boys. They had fun exploring and getting a little fresh air.

 Feeding the ducks!

That evening, Bibi and Babu put the kids to bed for us so we could have a sibling dinner out. After a fun meal at College Hill Bar and Grill, we took our guests to see the Keeper of the Plains.  We missed the lighting, but it's still fun to walk around the riverwalk/sculpture area at night when it's all light up. It was packed on this night!

On Friday, we packed a picnic lunch and spent the morning playing at "castle park" in Augusta, then splashing at the spray ground next door, before enjoying a picnic lunch. It was a HOT day, so the water felt great.

On Saturday, Brandon finally got to join us for some fun. We took our guests to The Exploration Place.

Wind tunnel, haha

They had to fly home Saturday afternoon, but not before a visit to the Nifty Nut House, a Wichita staple. Thanks to Aaron, for most of these pictures. We are glad our guests were able to make the trip - and that they tolerated our very child-centric schedule and choice of activities :)  And we will see everyone again soon -- in Michigan this time, over Thanksgiving!!
