First Week of Summer

We have big plans for lots of fun this summer, and we kicked things off this week!

We started our first session of swim lessons this morning. Esther gets to join the fun this year. All of the kids did great - so thankful they are all comfortable in the water. Esther is starting in Level 1 and Cora picks up where she left off last summer, in Level 2. Jonah started in Level 3, but was quickly moved to Level 4 on the first day! Way to go, Jonah! He is especially tickled, because Level 4 swimmers get to move over to the big lap pool.

After swim lessons, we met up with our friends, the Dooleys, at the Derby Library. Cora found this crazy headpiece (wig?), and it was kind of creeping me out.

Late in the afternoon, as I was about to start prepping dinner, I realized the power was out! (Again - we were without power from 8:15pm to 3:45am last night, ugh!). I reported the outage, and received text updates that power was expected to be back on around 5:15pm...then 6:00pm.....then 8:00pm....then 8:45pm! Brandon had the great idea of cooking hot dogs over a fire, since we couldn't cook anything in the kitchen. Dinner al fresco :)

We had the added bonus of watching the workers climb the power line pole in our back yard, and then replace the transformer, which was quite an undertaking. Thankfully this fixed the problem and the A/C works again!!

Our first day of summer was a busy (and sweaty!) one :)
