We are in a playgroup with other residency families that meets once a week to do fun things around Wichita. This week we met up at the Great Plains Transportation Museum for a tour. Contrary to the name, the museum was all about Trains! The museum itself is located near/next to an old train depot in the center of Wichita from back in the day when trains were the "it" transportation. They had all kinds of trains on-site and many of them were open for the kids to climb on and look around.
House Church
Our house church has grown quite a bit and demographics have shifted a little. We are now 17 adults and 14 kids (ages 10 and under....including nine kids under 4!), plus two high schoolers. It was getting a little out of control, so now, after we share a meal together, we ship all the kids over to our house with the two high school girls, so the adults can have a meaningful discussion. Yikes! It is controlled chaos. Not to mention way past bedtime for most of the kids. Brave girls. Last week, we had a smaller group due to vacation and sickness, so we tried keeping the kids with us. We had even had "children's church" - aka, we put on a video. It was mildly successful, but the littlest ones have very short attention spans.
