We're still here!

This is basically a photo dump from most of February and this first week of March. We are in the homestretch of the most exhausting couple of months of residency so far. Two more night shifts and we are Florida bound!!

We have started putting Cora in a sleepsack for naps after a suggestion from our friend, Natalie. I am happy to report it has resolved the sock-pulling, feet-scratching issue! I was a little nervous that she would be annoyed by it - but she doesn't seem to have any problems moving around in her crib. She can even walk around pretty well while wearing it.

When Brandon is working inpatient, he often has long shifts and gets home just as the kids are ready for bed (or sometimes after they are already in bed, unfortunately). They always squeeze in a little playtime when he makes it home before bed.

Cora's new favorite place to hang out is this little corner. She will bring a couple of books or some toys, back herself into the corner, and play contentedly for quite a while. Probably because she can keep an eye on me in the kitchen. Lately, she has liked to always have me nearby.

Cora is getting to the age where she imitates everything, and it's so fun! She loves phones, and if anyone says the word "phone" or she sees someone talking on a phone she will put her hand up to her face and walk around "talking" on her phone, too. "'Lo?" [Hello?]

We got about 5" of snow this past weekend (it was all gone by Tuesday!), so the kids got outside for a bit. This was Cora's first time out in the snow since she started walking. We don't have any snow pants or boots that fit her, so we had to improvise. Three pairs of pants and plastic bags over her shoes. She didn't seem to mind. As usual, we had to drag Jonah inside.

Jonah is getting a little more intentional with his drawing. It used to be that he would doodle something, then decide what it was. Now, he tries to draw specific things, which sometimes results in frustration when it doesn't turn out like he wants. The other day he drew this, and informed me it was our friends, Amy and John (fellow interns, who happen to be married), and their dog (they do not have a dog).

Cora continues to be quite obsessed with our neighbor's dog, Jacks.......from inside our house, at least. She loves to stare out the window at him, but she is completely petrified to go outside when he's in their yard.

Cora's hair is starting to get long enough to do fun stuff with. She's not a fan of the styling process (ie, sitting still). And she usually won't leave rubber bands or clips alone, so it doesn't last long. Here she is sporting her first pigtails:

We had lots of warm days in February where we were able to get outside. Cora is finally big enough for Jonah's little Scuttlebug trike, and Jonah continues to improve on his little bike.
