Happy One Month, Baby Girl!
We have gotten to know a little bit more about Cora over the past month. She continues to be super noisy - but only when she is sleeping or eating. In the mornings, she starts grunt-screaming about 30-40 minutes before she actually wakes up. It is remarkable such a big noise can come from such a tiny person. The only time she really cries is when she's hungry and has to wait. When she gets really worked up, she lets out a loud cry, followed by a frantic squeak as she inhales. It is cute and heartbreaking all at once.
Like her brother, she is proving to be a very smiley, generally happy, social baby. She has developed a hemangioma on the left side of her head. It is bright fuchsia and about the size of a pencil eraser. Google tells me it will continue to grow for about a year, then gradually fade and disappear. It is harmless. And Jonah is obsessed with it.
She still has most of the (dark!) hair she was born with. It is feathery fine and refuses to lay flat in the back - especially right after we wash it.

Cora's eyes are starting to change color....but it's hard to tell what color, exactly. Brandon sees blue (because he wants them to be blue??), but I think they are sort of brownish, greyish, mud-colored?? They are sort of a dark, indeterminate, non-color. Only time will tell, I suppose.
One month in, and we LOVE our sweet little girl. And I am starting to figure out how to do this with two kids. However, I am still looking forward to Spring and warmer weather - somehow leaving the house with two seems less daunting without all the extra layers :)
