Our Esther Joanne is 7 months old (as of yesterday)!
It's been a crazy few months of sickness and travel and Brandon out of town, and we are just not caught back up yet...but time marches on. Here's a truncated monthly update of Esther:
- Still rocking 12-13 hours of sleep at night (finally back on track after a bit of sleep-rebellion during our latest traveling).
- For naps, I decided it would be more convenient if she just took two longer naps, instead of all these little naps all day....so I sort of just forced it, to see what would happen - and she is playing right along =) Most days, she'll take two good 90 minute naps.
- This past month, she proved that she's not happy all the time. We experienced a bit of "stranger danger" in all our traveling - a first for us! Neither of the other two ever showed anxiety about being apart from Mom or Dad. But Esther wanted Mom. And don't put me on the floor and sit near me...hold me. I chalk it up to being overtired (and maybe a combination of new surroundings and not having constant entertainment from Jonah and Cora), because it has all but disappeared since being home.
- Still loving her fingers, especially when she's tired.
- First word (first love) is officially: Dada
- Looking more and more likely that she'll be blonde-haired, brown-eyed like Jonah and Cora.
- Pulling herself around on her belly, and pushing up to hands and knees, but not quite putting it together into a crawl yet.
She reminds me a lot of Jonah as a baby - very active, wants to be held but can't sit still, needs to touch everything. But she's not quite the level of manic he was. It's fun to see their curiosity, though and watch them explore.
Please....just pick me up!!!
A bucket is almost as good as Mom holding me,
(must have felt secure, all wedged in there),
Gave Mom's arms a bit of a rest, anyway.
