Ridin'

One of my garage sale finds this Spring was an infant bike seat for Jonah.  Finding an infant helmet that fit Jonah turned out to be much more complicated (and expensive!) than the seat itself!  And then Brandon was gone for a month before we had a chance to take it out for a spin - so it sat on the porch for months.

With the beautiful weather this holiday weekend, it was finally time to give it a try.  Brandon got the seat hooked up to his bike, and then did some fine-tuning on my bike.  I think the last time I was on a bike was for our triathlon in September 2010.  But hey - it's "like riding a bike," right? ;)

Since we live in a third-floor apartment, going for a bike ride is quite involved.  Brandon decided to try and carry his bike down the stairs...with Jonah already strapped into his seat on the back of the bike!  They made it down unscathed...but I think next time we'll transport bike and child separately.

We were finally on the street and ready to go!  We were off!  ...But then, about a block away from home, my rear tire blew.  Wah-wah.  Apparently my bike hasn't taken a spin in about three years, either.  Brandon still took Jonah out for a spin, and he loved it!  We'll have to try again another day.
