Esther earned her ice cream reward at the end of September!! But, either Brandon was working or we were out of town 6 of the past 7 weekends - so she has had to wait over a month! Bless her heart, she had the sweetest attitude about it. She didn't ever whine or nag, but would occasionally, sweetly ask, "Mommy, when am I going to have my ice cream?"
Today, we finally went to get her ice cream :) She chose Strawberry. And I had the sweetest time chatting with her while she ate it. She shared some bites with me, then insisted that we bring it home to share some with Daddy, too. Esther has such a big, kind heart. And she is such an encourager.
The Terrible Two's get a bad rap. But, so far, (for me, at least) age 3 has been where I have encountered some of the most challenging moments of parenting -- so we are bracing ourselves for the next year with this one. Thankfully, since we have been through "The Terrible Three's" twice before....we have the advantage of perspective, and we are armed with the knowledge that: It. Does. Not. Last. Forever. Which will hopefully allow us to enjoy these sweet moments....

Even as we embrace the spicy ones, too :P
