6 months!

Cora is 6 months old!

That means we've been in Wichita for a month. In some ways it seems like we're here. But it also feels like my to-do list to feel settled just keeps getting longer. Also, interesting fact: it is literally 125 degrees warmer today than the day Cora was born. Actual temperature. Not factoring in wind chill or heat index or "feels like". It is HOT in Kansas. (It was a COLD winter in Iowa.) I actually prefer the heat, though.

Here's a little about 6 month old Cora:

- She has two teeth! They popped through a few weeks ago. She got a horrible diaper rash around the same time - not sure if it was related - but didn't otherwise seem bothered by it.

- She is wearing size 3 diapers and 6-9 month clothing. And everywhere we go people comment on her toes.  Summer baby :)

- Gross motor: Her actions are becoming more intentional. She will roll, spin and reach to get a toy or book. She is also getting pretty steady at sitting on her own and seems to enjoy this vantage point more than being down on the floor. Cora loves the excersaucer and recently tried out the Johnny Jump-Up for the first time - she was a big fan.

- We started solids this month, too. Not too interested. She tends to clamp her mouth shut anytime she sees the spoon. We'll keep trying. Hopefully we'll find something she likes. This is new territory for us; Jonah gladly ate just about anything we gave him :)

- BOOKS!

- Her naps are occasionally starting to stretch past 40 minutes (yay!). When that happens, she can get by with three naps, but many days it's still 4 naps. Not much of a predictable schedule yet, but we seem to be moving in that direction.
- Night time sleep is still...ugh. I don't want to talk about it. We're working on it. Now if her brother would stop waking up before 5:00am, I might be feeling a little more patient about this one sleeping through the night.

- Cora is still enthralled with Jonah. She loves to be near him and still watches his every move. Jonah could take it or leave it. Sometimes he's super sweet with her. Sometimes I walk into the room and he's laying on top of her :)
- Sometimes, while she's nursing she tries to sneak her thumb in her mouth. Silly girl :)

Cora is our mostly smiling, always moving, sometimes dramatic, but generally go-with-the-flow Little Sis!!
